The Friends of Buenos Aires NWR operates an active environmental education program at the historical faclities in Brown Canyon.
Two cycles of workshops and walks are offered. One in the Spring and one in the fall.
Fall 2012 Walks and Workshops Schedule will be available soon
The primary mission of the Friends of Buenos Aires NWR is education.
We present a diverse program of walks and workshops all lead by experts in their fields. The events are both one-day and weekend.
The Friends actively work with regional schools in offering outdoor education opportunities. The Arivaca Cienega is a popular field trip destination where the Friends and Refuge staff and volunteers give the children an exciting day of learning about the natural world.
We also partner with the Santa Fe Ranch of Nogales in their environmental education programs.
Registration is required for all events. The fee for an overnight activity is $105 for members and $125 for non-members. The fee for a one-day activity depends on its nature. Please read its description. Cancellation may be made up to 72 hours for a full refund. Within 72 hours 50% will be refunded. Please go to Brown Canyon Activity Page for more information. You may also download a PDF Registration Form here.
